Lighting Up with LEDs

As  a cyclist it is sometimes easy to forget how invisible you are to the passing cars when the skies get dark or the rain comes tumbling down. However, one of the critical things that a cyclist needs to be safe when cycling is to be visible. Luckily, there is a growing number of innovative and stylish solutions to this problem and one of these has been created Wendy Lagros in the form of the LED jacket which features 30 LEDS controlled by a switch in the sleeve. This design is a refreshingly stylish addition to the cycling scene of high tech wearables which also feature more robust items like RDC LED jacket.

Another bright spark in the world of wearable technologies is Angella Mackey who has also been combining LEDs, cycling and style to create a fuller feminine coat which flashes in white at the front and in red at the back. You can see more images of Angella’s work here on Flickr.
